Dermatologists are experts in determining whether a particular lesion is a normal part of the skin or cause for concern. Normal lesions are benign, and lesions of concern are pre-malignant or malignant (cancerous).

Any lesion that you are considering removal for should be first evaluated by a board-certified dermatologist as some benign lesions can masquerade as skin cancers. Once a lesion is determined to be safe and benign, removal options can be discussed with our dermatologist. And if a mole or lesion looks concerning, we can have it biopsied and tested in the lab to make sure its not skin cancer.
